How to verify which RV toilet you have

How do I tell which Thetford Aqua-Magic toilet I have?

Read the model off the label on the toilet base — Style II, Style Plus, Style Lite, Residence, Aqua-Magic IV, V or VI. It matters because these models look extremely similar and do not share parts: the Style II takes waste ball seal 42141 while the Style Plus takes 34120, and Thetford lists them on separate parts lists.

Why this model family causes so many wrong orders

Thetford has produced a long run of Aqua-Magic toilets that share an overall shape and a family name. Standing in front of one, the visible differences are small. The parts lists behind them are not small differences at all.

This is the single most common wrong order we can document, because a listing that says "fits Aqua-Magic" is technically saying almost nothing.

Same component, four models, three different numbers

  • Waste ball seal — Style II and Residence: 42141
  • Waste ball seal — Style Plus: 34120
  • Blade seal — Aqua-Magic V and VI: 31708
  • Blade seal — Aqua-Magic IV Hand and Pedal Flush: 33027

Confirming the model

The label is on the toilet itself, low on the base near the floor flange, and it carries the model name. It is not on the seal you are replacing, and it is not on the box the old part came in.

If the label is unreadable, work backwards from a part you can still identify: find that number on this site, see which models list it, and narrow from there.

What to do with the model once you have it

Go to the appliance page for your model and read what Thetford lists for it. Every part shown there comes from that model’s own current parts list, and where a similar part belongs to a different model instead, the page says so and names it.

Look up your part

Search a part number, an appliance model, or the component that failed. We check the manufacturer’s own parts lists first.
