How to verify your RV refrigerator model and serial
Do I need the serial number to order RV refrigerator parts?
Usually the model number is enough, but not always. RV refrigerator parts lists split some components by serial number, so two units of the same model built either side of one serial take different parts. Check the serial whenever the parts list shows a component with a serial range beside it.
The model gets you the list. The serial settles the ties.
Start with the model — it selects the parts list, and for most components that is the end of it. But refrigerator parts lists carry serial ranges more often than toilet lists do, because these appliances stayed in production long enough for components to be revised mid-run.
Where a serial range appears next to a component, the model alone genuinely cannot answer the question. Both parts are correct for your model. Only one is correct for your unit.

Where the label is
On an RV refrigerator the data plate is reached from outside the camper, behind the lower exterior vent door, on the chassis or burner housing. It carries both the model and the serial.
That is worth knowing before you start: many people look inside the fridge first, and it is not there.
What we will not do
We do not decode serial numbers into build dates, and we do not infer a production year from a serial. Manufacturers do not publish a decoding scheme in the documents we hold, and inventing one would be exactly the kind of confident guess this site exists to avoid.
What we will do is show you the serial range the manufacturer printed, verbatim, next to the part it applies to. Comparing that to the number on your label is a reading task, not a decoding one.
